Excursion – Let’s get to know Madeira – Funchal and the Old town

The meeting point is agreed in advance.
A vision of history and culture, we visit the capital Funchal, through the beautiful Parque de Santa Catarina we enter the history of the discovery of the island, passing through Parque Municipal do Jardim we will arrive at the statue of the discoverer of Madeira, João Gonçalves Zarco, the Sé church, the Fruit, Vegetable and Fish Market, we will taste the tropical fruits, after tasting we will see fish in the fish market, we will see the historic center with its luxurious and artistic Santa Maria street, we will taste Rum and the opportunity to discover and buy some souvenir, we will go to the São Tiago fortress and then have lunch at the Madeiran restaurant. After lunch you can visit the Jardim Tropical do Monte or the Jardim Botânico, if you prefer, I can organize a guided tour.

Porto Moniz (West) Tour

With our transport we meet you next to the hotel. We continue to the fishing village Câmara de Lobos, where the famous Winston Churcill painted the beautiful landscapes, in the next stop at Cabo Girão with a glass platform 589m above sea level, Ribeira Brava the village with a 15th century church, we will visit the Fanal forest a place where are many laurel trees, this place is a UNESCO cultural heritage site, next visit to Porto Moniz where you can swim in the natural lava pools if the weather is good, on the way to the village of São Vicente we will enjoy the beautiful view of the “Veu de Noiva” waterfall and then we have a tasty lunch in the village of São Vicente with a amazing view of the ocean waves. With the transport we will go back to the hotel.

Santana (North) Tour

With our transport we meet you next to the hotel. First visit will be to the second highest peak Pico Arieiro 1818m, where we will have time to walk around and take photos, we will continue to the village of Santana to see the traditional houses, we will have lunch in the village of Faial in the place with mountain views, after lunch Let’s go to Machico beach for a walk or swim in the ocean, if the weather will be good, the next and last stop will be at Garajau to see the statue of Christ the King. With transport we will go back to to the hotel.

Excursion to the Curral das Freiras valley (middle of the island)

With our transport we will meet you next to the hotel, we will go to the village, where the nuns hid from pirates in the 15th century, the paths that lead to this place will accompany us with stunning views from the mountains, we visit the Barcelos peak , while visiting the village we will taste local liqueurs, after the tasting we will have lunch at a local restaurant. With the transport we will go back to the hotel.

Walk – Levada 25 sources, Rabaçal and Risco

With our transport we will meet you next to the hotel.
We will start the walk from the Paul da Serra plateau, from a height of 1288m above sea level to the lowest point 964m, walking through pleasant natural landscapes we will reach the Rabaçal house where we will have a coffee or tea break, then we will continue to to the Risco waterfall and we will follow the levada – an irrigation system in Madeira, which will accompany us to 25 springs that are found in a lagoon, the further the laurel forest delights us on the way, we will also be welcomed by an ascent to the mountain via stairs and a walk through the tunnel where we will arrive in Calheta. With the transport we will go back to the hotel.

Recommended sportswear, we wear comfortable sports shoes/mountain shoes, we carry a backpack with a light lunch, some energy bars,
We will have a small picnic on the way, a flashlight will help us cross the tunnel, this walk is about 13km.

Hike from Achada do Teixeira to the highest peak Pico Ruivo 1862m –
6 km walk

We will start the hike at Achada do Teixeira from a height of 1542m, gradually reaching 1862m, which is the highest peak in Madeira.

Sportswear is recommended, we wear comfortable sports shoes/mountain shoes, we take a backpack with a light lunch, some energy bars, we will have a small picnic along the way, this walk is about 6km and is of medium difficulty. With the transport we went to the hotel.
With the transport we will go back to the hotel.

Wine tasting in the vineyards – we go to the West of the island by transport,

we will be welcomed by the locals with a story and a tour of the grape gardens, they will tell us about growing grapes, after visiting the garden we will go to a tasting where we will enjoy 6 different wines (white, red, rosé) and small snacks (cheese and sausage) will also be included. You will be able to enjoy the flavors of this island’s grape wine with beautiful views around you.

Sunrise at the top of Pico do Arieiro

Sunrise at the peak of Pico do Arieiro at an altitude of 1818m, start the day with a sunrise.

Included is a transfer from and to the hotel, Madeira wine/tea, as well as blankets to keep warm (in winter, the temperature in the mountains is +5° lower, we drink warmer).
